Counselling
Hi, I'm Julie Lovelle, and with my own life experiences and formal counselling training I can assist in many areas that may hold you back from living your own life the way you would like or dream to experience.
I am a thriving survivor of domestic violence, who is passionate about empowering others to feel safe during healing.
I was on the belief that I was not smart enough to go to university after leaving school in Year 10. I was not inspired at high school to achieve; teachers squashed every career plan by saying you can't do that (mostly gender-based) or not good enough, so I settled into office work just to earn money and be what appeared to me like everyone else.
After the upheaval of a horrible and toxic marriage (that was life-threatening) I decided it was time to make a lot of changes. I gained certificates and diploma qualifications in massage and fitness.
During my 20 years as a remedial massage therapist and fitness instructor, I wondered why some women were experiencing unexplained pain. I discovered it was from toxic relationships, childhood experiences, trauma, and other experiences. I found women were confiding in me on various aspects of their lives and I was counselling women without formal training, I then decided to transition and move into counselling.
My mentor (I can’t thank her enough) gave me the spark to attempt university and for someone who did not believe she could do it, I ended up completing 3 degrees at 3 different universities! A Bachelor of Social Work, Graduate Diploma of Counselling, and a Master of Counselling. I focused on specialising in children, youth, family and mental health.
During my studies, I worked in the disability sector both as a support worker and support co-ordinator.
After graduating I worked in a youth counselling organisation where I gained invaluable experience working with young people ages 12-25.
My life journey as a single mum, finding the right love, blending a family, moving states and homes frequently, and having LGBTIQ+ family members, have all helped and shaped me to understand the complexities of life.
My experience as a defence spouse, with the highs and lows of moving interstate every couple of years while trying to navigate my own career. A partner going away for months at a time, which entailed missed birthdays, important dates, and anniversaries. I was constantly adapting to change and building resilience.
Finding your own identity is key to a fulfilling life and my passion is to help women and teen girls achieve a life of their choosing regardless of what has been thrown at them before.
Everyone is different and I structure sessions to provide a safe, comfortable space to meet your individual goals.
There is a connection between mind, body and soul/spirit and I like to incorporate a creative approach with talking such as craft, doodling, journaling, writing, worksheets specific, breathwork, and somatic gentle movement exercises.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or not sure how to navigate a life transition, I consider it a privilege to help you.

I believe that everyone has the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life. My philosophy is entrenched in the belief, mental and emotional well-being are integral to overall health. Emotional health is connected to physical health. Unbalance either and your whole well being will be affected. Counselling therapy can be a powerful tool to achieve balance.
